I have been wanting to give you an update on Taylor/Emily/ Bridget.had to change her name from both as I have granddaughters w/ those names….Female SchnauzerA391935……

She is absolutely wonderful…..She has settled in nicely…… She can see out of the left eye now & watches things where b/4 she listened to the sounds. The right eye that was bright red has changed to her normal color brown w/ some blue. She is so strong, intelligent & willing to learn.
I recieved what I needed from your vet for Bridget to get her shots. She was great.I was so proud of her when the vet tech approached her she sat to be petted….just like I taught her. She was well behaved w/ the other dogs , loves to go for walks, loves everyone & everything. She is great w/ the cat,my other dogs. She is just plain wonderful. She has gained weight… loves her food….Eats her Vitamin E soft gels right along w/ her food daily.

Thanks again for all that you do.

sophieI saw Sophie’s picture on Petfinder.com about a week after unexpectedly having to put down my 9-year-old pit bull/lab mix after a brief and horrible battle with aggressive prostate cancer. We weren’t really ready for another dog but our remaining dog, Spenser, had been distraught without his best friend and we were faced with the decision to either medicate him or get another dog. She has been nothing but a blessing for our family. Sophie and Spenser immediately bonded. She is in love with our newborn son – we can’t get her to stop giving him “doggie kisses.” Thank god for this website because otherwise how could we have known our perfect dog was waiting for us thousands of miles away? Thank you Petfinder.com!

Bentley

bentleyHI GARD.
We adopted bentley from you right before new years last year. Just wanted to let you know that he is a TERRIFIC  dog and we really enjoy him. He is a very quick learner and is great with the kids. Loves to play with the cat, wish the cat loved to play with him. but he put up with it. We now feed Bentley Blue buffalo dry food with Natural balances sausage style food. He is allergic to wheat or corn  not sure, so we eliminated it out of his diet and his coat is now unbelievably shine and soft. He does not scratch at all any more. He loves his natural uncooked bones( soup bones) and has a bunch buried in the yard. He goes to the dog park frequently and enjoys seeing other dogs, even If he has to go thru an adjustment time every time when he first thinks that all dogs are going to hurt him and he gets a little snippy. We are so glad that we took the time to drive to Gard and to find Bentley, he is a true enjoyment. He will be neutered within a few weeks and I will send you the “proof’
What happened to the other litter mates? I would love to get to know them.

Davner

davnerHi Joy

Our puppy is doing wonderfully. She is very playful then crashes for her naps. She is a wonderful truck/car rider. She is discovering the New Hampshire trails but always stays near.

Her coughing is nearly gone. Her appetite is much improved especially when we introduced another food (Innova). Her favorite treat for training is cheese. She almost has the sit but gets so excited for the cheese! She now will go up and down stairs, event he big scary basement ones. She sleeps through the night in our room on her pillow and definitely does not like any cage or being left alone! She loves chasing the tennis balls and brings then right back.

Her first cat encounter was…interesting. One cat will rub up against her, the other just hisses and runs. She also barks at her reflection in the door windows and the dishwasher reflection. Very funny!

Henry

henry dogHe is now know as Henry Schmidt, the beloved member of our family.  Since adopted he has gotten a haircut, gone on numerous trips to Forsyth and Hilton Head beach, and been the best friend/partner in crime/brother to our rescued dachshund, Wiener Dog, whom we’ve had for 3 years now. Henry has been the most welcome addition to our family and we are very thankful to the everyone at GARD for taking care of him prior to him finding us and his forever home. I’ve attached two pictures of Henry, one of him on the couch and one of Henry and Wiener Dog cuddled up ready for bed time. They are quite a pair. J

Chicky (Dixie)

Hi Joy,
sorry I haven’t written before now—-we had computer problems.    Anyway—–Chicky/  Dixie    she didn’t respond to us with her name of chicky—–my daughter said dixie and she went running to her. so the name stuck and she is doing awesome!!!
The first 2 days she was nervous the poor girl—after the second week she was coming around nicely. The children love her and she loves my kids .
She is still a little shy around my husband— (any man for that fact)
I will take pictures and send them to you.
The transport lady ( wanda) I think was her name   she is such a nice lady.  I enjoyed meeting her.
So hopefully this rests your mind that our dixie is happy and is in good hands.  We love her and she is a huge part of the family.
Thank you
Sincerely
Diana Houle
