Rowan

rowanThank you Micki!  We are so happy with our new fur baby! We have named him Rowan and we took him to see Santa Paws this past weekend!  Here is a cute picture for you on a happy ending.  Thank you for all that you do! I will be in touch when we get Rowan fixed.  Merry Christmas!!

Basil

basilIt took a while, but here’s a great picture of him from a vacation last month. We discovered he’s a natural at herding cattle. 🙂 He’s a one-in-a-million dog and we’re so glad he’s ours. Thank you so very much for rescuing him and matching him to our family!!!

Sparky

sparky1sparky2Hi There,

I adopted Sparky from your shelter almost 3 years ago. I just wanted to let you know that he has been the most wonderful dog. He is not only my companion, but also my absolute best friend. He has the best temperament I’ve ever seen in a dog; he never barks, and is always laid back and sweet to everyone. I honestly can’t thank you enough for providing me with the best dog ever. I tell everybody that they should absolutely consider adopting before buying a dog. And I always make sure to tell people where he came from 🙂 It has truly been the best experience. I’ve attached a bunch of pictures, and as you can see he travels with me everywhere I go. He loves being outside, cuddling in my bed, riding the train with me, and even goes on 3 mile runs with me! He is simply the best dog. I just wanted you to know that he has been in a loving home, and is truly happy here in Massachusetts. Thank you so much again for sending me my best friend.

Truly yours,
Megan Daly

Blitzen (Buddy)

blitzenHi.

I’ve been tardy in not sending a picture of the dog we adopted at GARD. His name at the time was “Blitzen”. I believe you told my wife and I that he was one of 4 or 5 of a litter of puppies that were delivered to GARD by a “dog hoarder”. Anyway, just wanted to send you a picture of “Buddy”. He’s been a wonderful buddy to my wife and I. We just love him to death. He sits, stays, comes. He’s just a fabulous, sweet dog. People stop us wherever we are to ask about him, etc.

We’ve been thinking of Buddy’s (Blitzen’s) other brothers and do sincerely hope that they’ve all been adopted to good homes.

So, here is the picture. Buddy said to say “hi, thanks for letting me go with Mike & Ginny O’Neill”.

Dazy

dazy 11-11-11 copyIn July of 2011 we adopted Dazy from your organization at the Agway store in Raritan New Jersey. We had her DNA test and found out that she is a Yellow lab and Great Pyrenees mix.

She is a joy to have as a member of our family. Dazy loves people and other dogs. She has already completed puppy and intermediate training classes. Soon she will begin advance training. Our goal is to have her complete CGC training so she can become a therapy dog. Her trainer told us she has a very good chance of achieving this goal.

Thank you for the wonderful work you do and for bring Dazy into our lives. She is going to be trained to give back to people in need.

Emma

Emma 1Hi,

I wanted to send a few pics of Emma–she is doing VERY well and is
always with her new best friend, as you can see from the pictures 🙂
She’s growing big and strong and house-trained quickly. She also loves
chasing tennis balls outside and chasing butterflies. We adore her.

all best wishes,

JuliAnna

Molly

mollyDear GARD,

I wanted to send you an update on our sweet and newest addition, Mollie (Molly). She has settled in so wonderfully and our other beagle, Millie, loves her too! We adore her and we’re so thankful that we had the privilege to adopt her from you. I’ve attached a photo of her and Millie sacked out together. She’s the smallest one (bottom) in the photo.

Thanks again for taking her in and caring for her!

Ricky

rickyRicky is already a star!!

He’s a dear boy who is already “rough housing” with the cats; they love him….as does Fiona…..right now he’s carrying her leash around the house as if to say, “get off the computer and take us out”!!!

I do wish he drank more on our walks, nope, there are small ponds and a lake and my bottled water, will not drink it….i got a spray bottle and spray water into his mouth…ha……and you didn’t mention that this is the “ever ready of pups”, even with no water, he’s always ahead a bit…

hot here….hot there i am sure, tired of sweating!

DSC_3388 - CopyGood Day!

I adopted an Aussie Mix 2 years ago. She has been a stalwart companion, comes to work with me every day, and is training for human remains detection for urban search and rescue.

Just thought you’d like to know what happened to her!
